Sycamore Cabin
Sycamore cabin will be our premier cabin, built specifically with ministry families in mind.

Built for families
Sycamore Cabin will be a 3-bedroom 3-bathroom Amish-built log cabin. With a loft and a walk-out basement, it will have plenty of space for everybody in the family. It will be stocked with families in mind, including toys, games, puzzles, and books.

Built to live up to its name
At Nystrom's Resort, all of our cabins are named after local trees: Birch, Cedar, Maple, Oak, and Pine. Sycamore Cabin is named after the type of tree Zacchaeus climbed because he wanted to see Jesus. That's what we want Sycamore Cabin to do: To help people connect with Jesus as individuals, as a couple or as a family.
Sycamore Cabin will be in a quiet spot separate from the rest of the resort and will have plenty of places inside for a number of people to be alone with him.

Built for groups
The walkout basement will have a large living room big enough to host a meeting of everybody who is currently staying at the resort. An extended family or a church group could stay in all the cabins and gather here. A kitchenette will help facilitate group meals.

Built for accessibility
A removable ramp will fit over the steps to the front door, providing easy wheelchair access to the main floor, deck, and screened-in porch.

Built for year-round ministry
Because it will be a 4-season cabin, when Nystrom's Resort shuts down for the winter in early October, Sycamore Cabin will continue its ministry on through the fall, winter and spring. Large south-facing windows will help keep it warm.

Built for the location
Guests staying in Sycamore Cabin will find themselves in the most quiet corner of the resort, but will have access to all the resort has to offer. Its west-facing living room, open deck, screened porch and private dock will offer spectacular sunsets views of Big Chetac Lake.

Built to look like it belongs in the woods
Sycamore Cabin will have the same rustic look as Tyndale Cabin, which houses John's translation office, built in 2024.
